Helio Castroneves to Replace Tom Blomqvist in IndyCar races Detroit and Road America
In a surprising move, Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) has announced that veteran driver Helio Castroneves will replace struggling rookie Tom Blomqvist for the upcoming NTT INDYCAR SERIES races in Detroit and Road America. Blomqvist, who has faced challenges in his debut season, has mutually agreed to step aside for the next two events.
Tom Blomqvist, currently 24th in the series standings, has had a tough start to the season. His best result so far was 15th place at St. Petersburg, and he recently crashed out of the Indianapolis 500 on Lap 1. Despite this setback, Blomqvist remains part of the MSR family and is committed to contributing to the team’s future successes.
Helio Castroneves, fresh off his 20th-place finish in the Indy 500, will join teammate Felix Rosenqvist in the MSR lineup. Castroneves’ experience and track record make him a valuable addition for the upcoming races.
