The 40th Anniversary weekend for Hendrick Motorsports

Sunday afternoon witnessed a historic moment as Hendrick Motorsports secured a 1-2-3 finish at Martinsville Speedway. The team’s dominance echoed their inaugural victory in 1984.

William Byron of Hendrick Motorsports secured his third win of the 2024 season in NASCAR overtime at Martinsville Speedway on Sunday. He held off his teammates Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott to claim victory. This remarkable achievement played a significant role for Hendrick Motorsports, as it came on the team’s 40th anniversary, and the 1-2-3 finish led by Byron was a fitting tribute to the organization’s rich history and success.

The race showcased the strength and camaraderie of the Hendrick team, with all four drivers performing admirably. Even the “worst” of the bunch, Alex Bowman, ran well throughout the day and finished in the top 10. The result was the first 1-2-3 Cup finish for any organization at Martinsville, a historic moment that left fans and employees alike feeling proud and emotional.
