One of the most promising future prospects in the world of arm wrestling, Auden Larratt is the up and coming sensation that has taken the pulling community by storm. Carrying the legendary “Larratt” surname, the son of the G.O.A.T of the sport- Devon Larratt, Auden has a lot on his shoulders.
Auden will be pulling Etienne Waite aka “Armwrestling Whisperer” on this 24th of February at the highly anticipated King of the Table 10 event and has left no stone unturned for the preparations. The two time Canadian national medalist with one gold and one silver, Auden is undergoing training in Canada, accompanied by his mother, Jodi to Dubai for KOTT 10.

The Sports Room recently got in touch with Auden, who shared in detail about how he has been preparing for his upcoming match against Whisperer, the pressure he feels being the son of Devon, and more.
1) How’s the training going for you?
“Training is going exceptionally well this time. I am stronger than I’ve ever been before in all the lifts that matter and would be ready for this match.”
2) What different have you been doing to prepare for this matchup?
“The main difference that I’ve been doing this time is I’ve been hammering on my pronation. It’s the most important one to beat and hook arm wrestler. It’s that I’m able to open his cup and then make him arm wrestle where he’s not strong.”
3) Do you have experience pulling Armwrestling Whisperer before?
“I’ve never pulled Armwrestling Whisperer before, but I have pulled people that have pulled him as well. So there’s a couple match ups that I’ve beaten guys where he’s beaten so I can see kind of the level.”
4) How many Nationals medal do you have in Canada?
“I’ve won two national medals before. I’ve won gold on the right and silver on the left. I’ve only ever pulled nationals one time so that was what I got.”
5) How important role has Devon played in the training camp leading upto this match-up?
“The most important role that my dad has played in this lead-up is all the preparation for
match analysis and training. We have totally all of our training programs together and analyzed him at the same time and came up with the same solution. So everything I’ll be doing is with help from him.”

6) Who’s going to accompany you to Dubai, will it be Devon or will Jodie also be there considering this is the first time you are competing in a mainstream organization?
“On this trip my mom, Jodi will be accompanying me. My dad needs to stay home and train up for the long. So my mom will be there to corner me and there’s just general support.”
7) Is there any pressure upon you being the son of the Greatest Armwrestler of all time?
“Of course, there’s pressure being the son of Devon Larratt, but I use that pressure to elevate myself to the next level and just train harder, and it gives me so many more opportunities than I wouldn’t have. So I tend not to look at the negatives of having big shoes to fill up with. In general, it’s a very good thing.”
