It seems like Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been watching college basketball in his free time. The NBA is on pause after the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend and Green is running out of ways to keep himself engaged and busy so he has turned to ‘coaching’ college basketball teams on Twitter.
The Syracuse Orange vs NC State Wolfpack matchup took Green back to his college basketball days and the former Michigan State Spartan player seemed to re-live his college basketball days by ranting against the NCAA coaching staff.
Green seemed to be disappointed by Syracuse’s second-half strategies and openly criticized the Syracuse management for not being able to capitalize on Chris Bell’s stellar first-half performance where he went 8-for-8 beyond the 3-point line in the first half.
Draymond Green comments on college basketball
Green opened up on Twitter: “I personally think if I ever coached college bball I’d destroy all these guys! I just watched Chris Bell start 8-8 from 3 in the 1st half, And finish 8-10. They didn’t have him set one back screen but only sat in the corner. Didn’t run a pick and roll with him as the back action.”
Green went on to blame the Syracuse head coach for Adrian Autry for their abysmal second-half performance and complete incapability in taking advantage of Chris Bell’s first-half heroics.
“And put the defender in a Single side tag position, and he got one shot in the 2nd half. Watching college BBall baffles me. His coach didn’t know how to use him to get other guys shots. Let alone get him another shot… HOWEVER… Boy got a ratchet!” Green added on X (formerly Twitter)
