However, Heim’s celebration was short-lived. In post-race inspection, it was discovered that the No. 11 truck had three lug nuts not securely fastened. As per Section 10.5.2.5.D in the NASCAR Rule Book, this violation led to an immediate disqualification for Heim and the Tricon Garage team.
Before the race, Corey Heim was second in the driver standings, trailing Christian Eckes by just four points. Heim also led the series in wins, boasting three victories. Unfortunately, the disqualification at Charlotte Motor Speedway will significantly impact his position in the standings.
Pit Road Errors and Dramatic Comeback of Corey Heim
Despite the disqualification, Heim’s journey during the race was eventful. The Tricon Garage team faced multiple pit road challenges in the closing laps of the 134-lap affair. First, an issue with the jack forced the jackman to scramble for a replacement, costing valuable time. Later, a left-rear tire issue further hindered their progress.

Heim’s resilience shone through as he fought his way back into the top 10 after restarting toward the back of the pack. With skillful maneuvering, he weaved past slower trucks, demonstrating his determination to salvage a strong finish.
The Truck Series now heads to World Wide Technology Raceway for the Toyota 200. Heim and his team will be eager to bounce back from the Charlotte setback and continue their pursuit of the championship.
