Jazz were just 6 points ahead of Spurs in the midst of the 3rd round, when Sexton set himself up with an alley-oop pass to make a 360 turn and dunk the ball. A single mistake could have spoiled the spectacular play from Sexton but he was in no mood for mistakes today as Jazz beat Spurs 130-118 in their stadium, AT&T Centre.

His on-court teammates couldn’t celebrate the wondrous play, given the situation. Even Sexton went back to defend the upcoming play of the Spurs. But the Jazz bench was all up on their feet, full of praise and excitement, except the head coach Will Hardy.

Collin Sexton’s effort makes head coach Will Hardy smile

Will Hardy locked eyes with Collin Sexton as he gave into a smile, indicating praise from his side for the guard. Sexton has been training overtime with Hardy and has improved his playmaking this season. He averaged 2.9 assists per game before this season and it has improved to 3.6 assists per game this season. In his game against Spurs, he scored 20 points, 4 rebounds, and had 6 assists to his name.

Post the game, Collin Sexton laughed and said “You gotta live on the edge sometimes,” and also added “Am I gonna be in trouble?” in remembrance of his coach locking eyes with him.

Hardy was very composed and praised Sexton in his way as he commented “Collin is truly amazing to me. I don’t understand why…I think we were up like four with like 20 minutes left in the game. I don’t know what on earth would make him try that. I also think the fact that he’s 6-foot-1 and pulled that off is wild. The look on his face when he landed indicated that he thought it was both awesome and that he was kind of in trouble.”

Jazz face the New Orleans Pelicans in their game, who sit 7th in the Western Conference. Jazz are currently 12th in the Western Conference and a win would extend their current 3-game win streak.
