Adrian Newey has undoubtedly been one of the greatest contributors to the success of Red Bull Racing’s Formula 1 cars in recent years. Jenson Button, the 2009 world champion, believes that Newey’s departure will be beneficial for the sport, as it will allow other teams to offer some competition. According to Button, the Red Bull car was two and a half seconds faster than any other car, and Adrian was intimately familiar with every single detail of that car.
Appearing on the Sky F1 podcast, Jenson Button said, “If he’s not happy, it’s a shame because Red Bull are in such a good place in terms of performance at the moment.
“But for the sport, it’s probably a good thing if we saw him somewhere else and give another team an opportunity.”
Jos Verstappen Warns Red Bull: In Danger of Falling Apart After Adrian Newey’s Exit
Jos Verstappen, the former Formula 1 driver and father of Red Bull star Max Verstappen, has issued a stark warning to the Red Bull Racing team. His concern arises from the recent revelation that design guru Adrian Newey will depart from the team in 2025. Newey, who has been instrumental in designing championship-winning cars for Red Bull, will end his nearly two-decade association with the team.
“The team is in danger of falling apart. I was afraid of that earlier this year,” Jos Verstappen told De Telegraaf.
Red Bull Racing announced earlier this week that Adrian Newey will leave during the first quarter of 2025. This news has sent shockwaves through the paddock, as Newey’s expertise and innovative designs have been crucial to the team’s success. His departure raises questions about the team’s future direction and stability.
