7x USAC champion unveils ups & downs of the sport

Levi Jones, a seasoned figure in the racing world, has taken on a new role in 2021. His legacy extends beyond administrative roles. As both a driver and an executive, Levi’s passion and dedication have left an indelible mark on the USAC brand. After six years with the United States Auto Club (USAC), where he served as the Vice President of Competition, Levi started a fresh chapter as the Director for the INDY Lights Series in INDYCAR in 2021.

As per the recent post on X, Levi was heard sharing an evening when he met Andrew Hamberg on the race track. Jones seeks advice about his racing and asks what he should do. Hamberg advised him to race as many tracks as possible and Levi did the same thing and raced a wide range of races and learned how to qualify and how to race against those talented racers

Then Levi shared how he continued racing for four years even without the win but he fell short of a win many times. He shared that as time passed finally he won his first USAC win. He finally celebrated his victory and passed the message to young drivers as well “Enjoy the journey.”

In the end, Levi referred to how Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell improved their skills and the way they kept racing

A flashback to Levi Jones’ USAC journey

During his tenure at USAC, Levi played a pivotal role in overseeing the Circle Track Division, which encompasses the USAC Sprint Car, Midgets, and Silver Crown Series. Under his leadership, car counts for all divisions reached their highest levels in decades, and a record number of USAC National events were scheduled for the 2021 tour. Notably, Levi was instrumental in establishing significant foundation events, including the BC39 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

His involvement in constructing the Dirt Track at IMS and organizing the BC39 race will forever be remembered as part of his USAC era. The racing community celebrates his contributions, and USAC’s President & CEO, Kevin Miller, acknowledges the unique impact Levi has had on the organization.
