Donald Trump’s reported interest in Gianni Infantino as a future United Nations Secretary-General has triggered one of the strangest crossover stories in recent memory, blending football, politics, and global diplomacy into one headline-grabbing idea. According to reports, Trump believes the FIFA president is respected worldwide and has a rare ability to bring people together, which has instantly turned the rumor into a talking point well beyond the world of sport.

At first glance, the suggestion sounds almost improbable. Infantino is best known as the public face of FIFA, a man who has spent years navigating football politics, World Cup logistics, and the constant pressure that comes with leading the sport’s governing body. But in Trump’s eyes, that profile may be exactly the point. The argument appears to be that someone who has dealt with rival nations, major sporting powers, and high-stakes international events could also bring a different kind of energy to the UN’s top job.

The reported timing matters too. The UN is preparing for a leadership transition, and speculation around possible successors tends to intensify whenever the position opens up. Still, even by those standards, Infantino’s name entering the conversation is unusual. The office of Secretary-General traditionally goes to a diplomat or political figure with deep experience in international relations, peacebuilding, and multilateral negotiation. A football administrator stepping into that space would be a dramatic break from tradition.

That is why the story has gained so much traction. It is not just about whether Infantino could technically be nominated. It is about what the idea says about the moment we are living in. Politics and sport have become increasingly intertwined, and Infantino’s growing global visibility has only reinforced that trend. His relationship with Trump has already drawn attention in the past, especially during major football events where the two appeared to strike up a close rapport.

Supporters of the idea may argue that Infantino understands global symbolism better than many career diplomats. Football reaches almost every country on earth, and FIFA’s president is constantly forced to deal with competing interests, sensitive cultural questions, and the pressure of keeping a giant international organization functioning. In that sense, the argument goes, he already operates in a world not entirely unlike the UN’s.

But there are also obvious doubts. The UN Secretary-General is expected to balance diplomacy, neutrality, and international trust on a level far beyond sports administration. Critics would question whether someone so closely associated with FIFA’s controversies and political maneuvering could realistically become the face of global cooperation. Even if Trump sees him as a unifier, the nomination would still need to survive the UN’s complex approval process.

For now, the story sits in that familiar space between political rumor and serious possibility. It is bold, unexpected, and exactly the kind of headline that invites debate. Whether it becomes more than speculation is another matter entirely. But even as a talking point, it shows how far the influence of football figures can now stretch beyond the pitch and into the corridors of power.

United Nations sanction against North Korea stated that the member states were supposed to evict the North Koreans to their country who were working overseas.

The Security Council experts stated that the transfer move of the forward is breaching the United Nations resolutions against North Korea for failing to give up its nuclear program.

Italy was informed in January about the matter but “the transfer has not been cancelled.”

It was reported that “The Council has again reported to Qatar the relevant resolutions relating to this case”

Han Kwang song was signed by Juventus in the last year summer transfer window. During his time at the club, he was not handed a spot in the senior squad. However, he was moved to the Under-23s.

He made twenty appearances for the Under-23s playing the Serie C, the third tier level of football in Italy. Playing for the reserves team, Han Kwang-song netted one goal and provided two assists.
