During the first quarter of the match, Wolford collided with Seahawks safety Jamal Adams and got nailed in the head during a rush in the 1st-and-10 play. On a score of 0-0, the 25-year-old QB exited the pitch with a neck injury and was replaced by Jared Goff.

Although Goff himself has been recovering from a thumb injury, the replacement QB did contribute, completing 9 out of 19 passes with 155 passing yards and a touchdown pass, as Rams thrashed the hosts 30-20 at the CenturyLink Field.

John Wolford released from hospital after undergoing treatment for neck injury

On top of a superb victory over the NFC West champions, what’s more delightful for the Rams fanbase is that Wolford has been discharged from hospital after undergoing treatment for his neck, as reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN.

“After spending Saturday afternoon at the hospital, Rams’ QB John Wolford returned to LA last night with the team, per source. Both Rams’ QBs, Wolford (neck) and Jared Goff (thumb) are banged up, but in words of one source both “should be OK.” Schefter tweeted.

The QB even took to Instagram to reach out to his online followers- “I’m good… on to the next”.

A former Arizona Hotshots star, John Wolford arrived at LA in 2019 after the AAF ceased operations. He made his NFL debut in Week 17 against Cardinals, completing 22 of 38 passes for 231 yards plus one interception as Rams picked up a 18-7 win.

Even if Wolford receives clearance before their upcoming playoff fixture, its more likely that Goff will takeover to start the next match, as the 26-year-old QB himself claimed his thumb has been recovering well and good.

My thumb is fine. Its coming along. Its not 100% because it had surgery 12 days ago, but its in a good place,” Goff said after the win, “I’m very capable with what I’ve got going on right now. I’m very proud of our team. Its an exciting game. Its an exciting day.”
