Mick Foley sheds praise on John Morrison and Ricochet

John Morrison and Ricochet are undoubtedly two of the most talents stars in the WWE. They have been putting on some entertaining matches for the past few weeks on Raw.

It can be understood that their involvement in matches would certainly entertain the fans. They possess unique moves and the spectacular in-ring prowess is mesmerizing to witness. This week they impressed Mick Foley with the Falls Count Anywhere Match.

Mick Foley often lets his opinion known on his Twitter handle. He recently took to his account and spoke about the match on Raw. He wrote: “HECK OF A MATCH! Some mind-boggling stuff those guys are capable of!”

Ricochet went on to appreciated Foley’s kind words and credited the Hardcore Legend for inspiring his daring approach.

He wrote: “Thank you, Mick…and thank you for inspiring me to be daring.”

Ricochet emerged victorious against John Morrison on Raw

Ricochet got the pin fall victory. The final moments in the match saw Ricochet put John Morrison through the ladder with a big splash. It was Morrison who set up the ladder as a bridge between the ring and announcers table, but Ricochet jumped over the ladder and hit a crossbody from the apron.

Both Ricochet and Morrison are set to compete in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match this Sunday at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. They both seem to be determine to win the ladder match that will earn them an opportunity to cash-in the contract for a WWE Championship match or the WWE Universal Championship match.

The two high fliers will be going up against the likes of Riddle, Big E, Drew McIntrye, Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamaura and Seth Rollins.

Morrison had picked up a win against the former WWE Champion Randy Orton on Monday Night Raw last week to qualify. He went on to shed praise for that episode of RAW in particular.

John Morrison reveals wrestling needs ‘unpredictablity’ and ‘uncertainty’

There have been heavy criticism for the product on Raw. Fans have been finding the show monotonous with the same matches taking place over the years.

But, last week things were freshen up and few matches were unprecedented. The three qualifying matches were scheduled which the fans had never seen on WWE TV and that drew some interest from the fans.

The edition saw Ricochet defeat AJ Styles, John Morrison defeat Randy Orton, while Riddle also managed to win against Drew McIntyre.

Now, John Morrison believes that WWE ‘nailed it’ in making the matches and that too the outcomes of the matches were also unexpected.

He said: “I thought [that] episode of Raw was one of the strongest episodes of Raw that I’ve seen in a very long time.You nailed it. Like Ricochet beats AJ, John Morrison beats Randy Orton, and Riddle beats Drew.

He added: “Nobody saw any of those coming. I think that sometimes is what wrestling needs is a little bit more unpredictability, a little more uncertainty.“

The former WWE Intercontinental Champion believes that wrestling product should be unpredictable. He said that when the fans are in ‘unknown’, it makes it ‘more interesting’ for them to consume the wrestling product.

John Morrison said: “But when you’re in the unknown, it’s more interesting because anything can happen.”

‘The Prince of Parkour’ said that the fans are getting more of a passive viewing experience. Instead of being interested in the process of the match, fans are more into knowing the outcome of the match.

But, it is always better to make things in way that nobody sees it coming and that is the reason why he said last week’s edition of Raw was ‘so cool’.

John Morrison will certainly eye to retrieve the MITB briefcase at the pay-per-view on July 18. This will enable him to cash in the contract anywhere and anytime.

John Morrison got the nickname from Cardi B

John Morrison’s wife Franky Monet recently had an interview with Sportskeeda’s Rich Ucchino when she opened about her husband’s pro wrestling career. She also noted how Johnny Drip Drip nickname came into being suddenly.

She went on to share the origin of the name. The NXT star recalled having a road journey a couple of years back with husband John Morrison, Tessa Blanchard and Kiera Hogan for a gig with Impact Wrestling. Monet said that a Cardi B song came on and her husband John Morrison was rapping along. Thus after this, he was given that new name.

Frankie Monet said: “He’s having the most fun I’ve seen him have in a long time. I will give you the origin story of Johnny Drip Drip. About two years ago, we were all driving in a car, me, John, Tessa, and Kiera, after a taping to eat dinner, this 24 hour diner in New York. We were playing Cardi B in the car. We were all delusional from lack of sleep, and all this kind of stuff, and being super hungry.”

Monet revealed that Morrison is fond of rapping and he started rapping to Cardi B. She said:

“It was within that car ride that Johnny Drip Drip was born. I don’t even remember who it was that said, ‘Oh my God, Johnny Drip Drip’, and it just became a thing.”

The NXT star said that Morrison is going to keep using the name and it has been in development for the past few years. He shockingly defeated Randy Orton on the latest edition of Monday Night Raw to book a spot in the upcoming Money In The Bank contract ladder match.

It has been noted that Cardi B is slated to host SummerSlam this year on August 21 in Las Vegas. However, the appearance has not been confirmed yet.
