While The Money Team Racing has faced challenges, including a failed partnership deal with Spire Motorsports, their presence in NASCAR adds excitement and diversity to the sport.

Bob Pockrass shared a post on X stating, “Ty Dillon will drive the No. 50 Cup car this weekend at Charlotte. The team is owned by some of the same people who co-owned TMT (Mayewather not involved) and Amerivet Securities, a service-disabled veteran-owned broker-dealer financial services company.”

Mayweather’s Ownership and NASCAR Debut

Mayweather co-owns The Money Team Racing, which made its debut in the NASCAR Cup Series. The team fields the No. 50 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 on a part-time basis.

Their debut race was at the 2022 Daytona 500, where driver Kaz Grala took the wheel of the appropriately numbered No. 50 Chevrolet. The team secured sponsorship from Pit Viper Sunglasses and Momento NFT for their debut race.

During the 2022 Daytona 500, Grala raced his way into the starting lineup through the duels. Despite losing a right rear wheel and tire during the race, Grala finished in 26th place. The team continued to compete in select races during the season, with Conor Daly making his Cup Series debut at the Charlotte Roval race.

Mayweather and Pacquiao locked horns in the historic “Fight of the Century” match which took place on 2nd May 2015 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada. Mayweather was the then WBA, WBC and The Ring welterweight champion, while Pacquiao was the WBO monarch at 147. “Money” won the fight via a unanimous decision.

Nearly a decade later, with both fighters now retired, “PacMan” dropped a bombshell at RIZIN 45 on New Year’s Eve, claiming that a rematch between the two have been set for this year in Japan.

“I will see you here in Japan again, for a big fight. Floyd Mayweather, I thought you wouldn’t want me to say that. I am excited for that,” the former eight division world champion said at that time.

Floyd Mayweather claims he got $4 million from the Pacquiao callout

Pacquiao’s statement has not been received well by Mayweather, as his response to the announcement during a recent appearance on The Pivot podcast reveals Mayweather wasn’t too enthusiastic about Pacquiao’s move, although he claimed to have pocketed $4 million just from the callout.

“When Manny Pacquiao spoke about that, he shouldn’t have because there’s a time and a place for everything,” said Mayweather. “It’s so crazy when he spoke about it. I could have easily come out and say, ‘Yeah you spoke about it I ain’t have to say nothing’. Just by him saying my name they gave me a cheque for $4 million.”

“Who I mean you know. I don’t like to throw certain individuals under the bus but remember, he got famous because they said he could be the guy that could possibly dethrone the king,” added Mayweather. [H/T Mirror Online]

Mayweather only made two professional boxing appearances following the Pacquiao fight- against Andre Berto in September 2015 and in his final outing, the famed boxing match against Conor McGregor in August 2017, ending his career with a clean 50-0 record.

Pacquiao, meanwhile, had seven fights afterward with a 5-2 record, and in his last professional bout, he lost to Yordenis Ugás for the WBA (Super) welterweight belt in August 2021.

Garcia recently shared a reel on his Instagram profile, showing him hanging out with Mayweather. The caption of the reel was Mayweather recently saying that he considers Garcia as one of the three biggest stars in the sport.

Haney found another chance to throw some slack at Garcia, and he responded that even a legend like Mayweather won’t be able to assist him.

“Floyd can’t save or help u..” Haney wrote to Garcia.

Haney and Garcia have been in conversation for a mega-fight this year, and the two have gone at one another on social media on multiple occasions. Haney, the former undisputed champion at lightweight, recently made his debut at super lightweight back in December and defeated Regis Prograis to clinch the WBC 140-pound belt.  The former interim WBC lightweight champion in Garcia, meanwhile, bounced back from the Tank Davis loss with an 8th-round knockout of Oscar Duarte in December.

Floyd Mayweather considers Ryan Garcia as one of his top three boxers right now

Floyd Mayweather, the undefeated boxing legend, recently named his top three boxers in the sport right now. Aside from naming Garcia, “Money” also picked Canelo Alvarez and Gervonta Davis as his other two.

“There are some heavy hitters in the game right now but there’s only really three. Canelo [Alvarez], Ryan and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis,” Mayweather said in a recent interview with InsideFighting.

Haney’s father Bill Haney, on the other hand, believes his boy’s achievements eclipse others, comparing it to Mayweather’s prime, as well as lambasting him for speaking in favour of Garcia.

“What Floyd didn’t do at 25 years old, Devin did. This is the Devin Haney era,” Bill told  iFL TV. “Floyd, you can keep talking about that money c**p if you want to. There is someone coming to the Mount Rushmore of boxing – and his name is Devin Haney.”

“What will your excuse be?” Jake Paul throws open challenge to Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather Jr marked another victory in his exhibition boxing career after dropping RIZIN featherweight Mikuru Asakura in the second round of their main event clash at Super RIZIN & RIZIN 38 event this Saturday night at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

The fight marked ‘Money’s second RIZIN event as well as his fourth exhibition bout since retiring from his professional career with an impeccable 50-0 record. Mayweather’s next bout is set to take place against Deji on 13th November in Dubai.

Taking the opportunity to throw shade at Mayweather, ‘The Problem Child’ opined that Mayweather is tarnishing his legacy by facing unknown opponents and as he is one of the most popular figures in the sport and also called him out to a fight.

“All right, ladies and gentlemen, picture this: It’s 2022. Floyd Mayweather is ruining his legacy fighting no-name guys, wasting his fans’ money, wasting his fans’ time,” Paul said in a recent post on Twitter, “He doesn’t even know the names of the guys he’s fighting, and then he chooses to fight Comedy Shorts Gamer, influencer, to make some money to pay his tax bills. Floyd Mayweather telling Jake Paul that you will only fight Jake Paul if he comes down to his weight, 140 pounds or something. I can’t believe what’s going on in the world. I can’t believe this is real.”

“Floyd, I will fight you, and you know that’s one of the biggest fights to make in boxing,” Paul went on, “I weigh 175, you weigh 165. We can get that done, make a couple $100 million. But what will your excuse be? You didn’t care what my brother weighed, so why do you care what I weigh? Oh, because you know – you know what’s going to happen. I want to say, ‘I’ve got your 0.’ I don’t want to just say, ‘I’ve got your hat.’ I got your 0.

“But you’re going to find a way to dance around this. You’ve said, ‘Oh, once he fights a professional fighter, he’s going to get destroyed. Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor are reportedly in talks over the big-money fight

As per the reports of UK-based outlet, The Sun, the superstar duo is currently in talks over another money-drawing fight. A source claimed that personal terms have already been agreed between the two fighters but there is yet to be an agreement over the number of rounds, with the ‘Notorious’ wanting 10.

Ryan Garcia agrees to 135-pound fight against Davis

After defeating Javier Fortuna via 6th round KO in a Light Welterweight bout at the Crypto.com Arena in LA on 16th July, Garcia said that he felt better fighting at 140 compared to 135 and that’s also where he wants to face “Tank”.

“I felt way better (fighting at 140),” Garcia told Chris Mannix in the ring, “I’m not going back down to 135 for nothing, but I will fight Tank next, if Tank wants that at 140,” Garcia went on, “That’s gonna give me the respect I deserve. I’m never afraid, I have a spirit of competition in me, and you’re gonna see that come out when I fight Tank and whoop his ass.” [H/T Bad Left Hook]

Upon hearing Garcia, Davis’ promoter Floyd Mayweather Jr said that the fight can only be done at 135 and said that if “The Flash” nods to it, the fight can be made within this year.

“…we know ‘Tank’ fight at 135. So, if you wanna fight ‘Tank’ at 135, we can make it happen before the end of the year. You just fought at 135? So, why can’t you fight at 135 again?” Mayweather told Ben Thompson of FightHype,“…we can make the fight happen. But the fight gonna happen at 135. Sacrifices. While “The Flash” earlier said that Teofimo Lopez was his alternate option at 140, his feedback on Mayweather’s condition makes it clear that Garcia wants the Davis fight over anything else.

I believe we’re even better than the Mayweathers: Usman Nurmagomedov 

The current generation of MMA had been stupefied by the approach of Khabib Nurmagomedov into the top strata, the Russian Combat Sambo World Champion who blew away all competition in the sport’s top dog- the UFC, eventually becoming the promotion’s Lightweight champion and retiring with an untamed 29-0 record.

Even though “The Eagle” has called it a career, Usman, Abubakar, and Umar are all destined to carry forward the Nurmagomedov legacy. Both Abubakar and Uman currently compete in the welterweight and bantamweight divisions in the UFC respectively, while Usman has found his place as a Bellator MMA lightweight contender.

When it comes to boxing, the Mayweather heritage started further back, with Jeff, Roger as well as Floyd Sr who competed in the topmost level but it was until Floyd Jr, who solidified the Mayweather name in the Boxing Hall of Fame, having been world champion fifteen times across five weight classes and retiring with an immaculate 50-0 professional record.

The stature of both the Nurmagomedov and Mayweather families in combat sports remains unquestioned, but according to Usman, they have accomplished more than their counterparts in boxing.

“I believe we’re even better than the Mayweathers. We’ve got a better record and I believe the caliber of me and [my family members] is higher than the Mayweathers,” Usman told Insider, “But I can see why you would compare us.”

With his submission victory over Chris Gonzalez at Bellator 283, Usman now sits at an undefeated 15-0 record, edging closer to his cousin Khabib. While destined to carry forward the Nurmagomedov legacy, Usman says there’s no pressure.

“My family name, it isn’t pressure,” Usman told Sports Illustrated via a translator, “Khabib’s always in my corner. I feel good when he’s there. It’s motivation. With my family, I have the strongest corner in the sport. I have to represent our family on the highest level. That is what I plan to do.”

Tank Davis won’t face Ryan Garcia at 140 says Mayweather

Ryan Garcia has been pursuing to secure a fight deal with Gerconta Davis for months. The former WBC interim lightweight champ recently marked his 23rd professional career victory as the 23-year-old took out Javier Fortuna via 6th round KO in a Light Welterweight bout at the Crypto.com Arena in LA last Saturday night. In the post fight interview, “The Flash” said that it felt better than fighting at 135 and even said he wants the Davis fight at 140 if the latter was up for it.

However, Floyd Mayweather is not keen on getting Davis to fight at 140, as during an interview with Ben Thompson of FightHype, “Money” passed onto Garcia that the fight can be made before the end of the year, but at Lightweight, as well as questioning Garcia’s decision to jump up.

“The main man in the sport of boxing right now is the one that’s attached to me, Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis,” said Mayweather, “That’s the only thing this kid Ryan Garcia, that’s the only thing that he know is ‘Tank.’ That’s the only name that he know is ‘Tank.’ Right? ‘Oh, I wanna fight ‘Tank.’ I don’t care, it’s the biggest fight.’ OK, you wanna fight ‘Tank?’ You know, in boxing, we make sacrifices. So, we know ‘Tank’ fight at 135. So, if you wanna fight ‘Tank’ at 135, we can make it happen before the end of the year. You just fought at 135? So, why can’t you fight at 135 again?” 

“I’m gonna have ‘Tank’ in the best shape of his life and just know, you know, when he hit that boy, he ain’t gonna wake up until next year. Don’t worry, ladies and gentlemen, I’m just sh!t-poppin’. I’m just sh!t-talkin’. All jokes aside, we can make the fight happen. You know, truthfully speaking, we can make the fight happen. But the fight gonna happen at 135. Sacrifices. However, in case Garcia doesn’t agree to Mayweather’s conditions, he does have a Plan B.

Terence Crawford, who has been the reigning WBO titleholder at 147 since June 2018 and across five title defenses, parted ways with Top Rank after defeating Shawn Porter in November and two months later in January, sued Bob Arum’s company of racial bias, breach of contract and even fraud and negligent misrepresentation.

Now, as a free agent, Crawford is edging closer and closer to one of the most anticipated fights of this generation- an undisputed title clash against the current WBC, WBA (Super) and IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr.

Spence is currently signed to Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions and before their undisputed title clash, expected to be one of the biggest selling fights ever, Mayweather wants to give “Bud” the chance to make a huge payday by landing him under his own promotion.

“It’s no different from Chinese supporting the Chinese, Dominicans supporting Dominicans, Puerto Ricans supporting Puerto Ricans, Mexicans supporting Mexicans,” Mayweather told Ben Thompson, the founder of FightHype.com, “I’m a Black American. I’m going to support a Black American first. I’ve always wanted the best for Terence Crawford — always. We spoke on numerous occasions. We have each other’s phone numbers. Hopefully, everything plays out like it should, and of course, I would love to sign Terence Crawford. I talked about getting Terence Crawford the fights that he wants.”

“You see so many young fighters now starting their own promotion company. You have to be able to give fighters [$1 million and up to $6 million] in advance before you get a promotional company. I’m not talking about Terence Crawford, but fighters in general. If you’re not able to do that, and be a major promoter right now, then we should wait on that. That’s what I think. Everything has a time and a place. But I think every fighter should have a dream of being a promoter. Promoting is a rough job. You can look at me for instance. I wanted to be a promoter to help fighters, but the more I help them, the more they hate me. That comes with the territory. That comes with the sport. It is what it is.”

Regarded as one of the greatest professional boxers of all time, Senator of the Philippines and eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao (62–7–2, 39 KOs) is one radiating name in the sport and even at 42 years of age, is showing no signs of slowing down.

The Filipino stalwart has thrashed some of the biggest names in boxing in the ring and to break his two year hiatus from the sport, will be back in action against Errol Spence Jr (27-0, 21 KOs) on 21st August at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada.

Mayweather warns Spence about the upcoming Pacquiao fight

The last time “PacMan” was seen in action, he defeated Keith Thurman via a 12 round split decision victory to clinch the WBA (Super) welterweight title in Las Vegas back on 20th July 2019.

Now, before Pacquiao returns to the MGM for the third consecutive time to square off against Spence, Floyd Mayweather has come forward to give the latter some very important advise on how to tackle the veteran.

It has been six years since Mayweather faced Pacquiao in the squared circle, the clash which was touted as the “Fight of the Century” as well as “Battle for Greatness” on 2nd May 2015 in Las Vegas, the fight which saw Mayweather’s WBC, WBA (Super) and Pacquiao’s WBO welterweight belts on the line. “Money” had won the fight via UD.

Come this August, Spence is undoubtedly having the toughest fight of his career yet, and as the WBC and IBF welterweight champion puts his belts on the line, he gets some warning from Mayweather about Pacquiao.

“He (Pacquiao) is very dangerous still,” Mayweather told “The Truth” the truth.

Mayweather himself is returning  to exhibition boxing for the second time as he takes on Youtuber Logan Paul on 6th June in Miami, Florida, a fight in which the 44-year-old is the clear favourite and even admits that he has “no strategy” on facing Logan.
