Huskies are set to face Michigan which beat Alabama on the other semifinal. Michael Penix Jr. was simply outstanding for the Huskies, finishing 29 for 38 with 430 yards and two passing touchdowns. He may have just missed out on winning the Heisman Trophy but he will take the credit for being the main man in their win against Texas in the semifinal.

Receivers Rome Oduzone and Ja’Lynn Polk with vital performances 125 receiving yards on six catches and five catches for 122 yards and a touchdown respectively. Texas Longhorns running back CJ Baxter was brilliant against the Huskies with seven carries for 53 yards with a long of 16 in the first half. CJ Baxter and Jaydon Texas running backs displayed solid performances as a duo with 119 yards of offense combined and two touchdowns. They were also vital in getting possession back from time to time.

Texas Longhorns

During the first half, CJ Baxter was Texas’ leading receiver with one catch for 31 yards. Baxter continued his hot start with a 31-yard catch-and-run on a screen pass. He followed this up with a 13-yard run near the goal line that set up Jaydon Blue for a five-yard rushing touchdown a few plays later. The Longhorns came back from behind to tie things up at 7-7. The Longhorn’s most impressive drive of the first half was CJ Baxter scoring a three-yard touchdown with 17 seconds left to tie the game. This capped off a 10-play, 72-yard drive that took up 1:10 of the game clock.

But despite everything, the Texas Longhorns still fell short. Despite the loss, the most heartwarming moment of the game was from Longhorns C.J Baxter. Baxter gave tribute to Jonathon Brooks, one of the nation’s top rushers. Brooks was sidelined for the season with a torn knee ligament which allowed CJ Baxter to play and showcase his talent.  

Matthew McConaughey was not enough to save the Texas Longhorns

Oscar-winning actor Mathew McConaughey was seen cheering for his team the Texas Longhorns against the Washington Huskies which took place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. McConaughey is a massive Texas fan as he is often seen supporting his team from the sidelines. He lived in Longview Texas and was a student at the University of Texas.

McConaughey is so passionate about his team that he paced the sidelines like a coach and gave the players a pep talk during the game. Despite all of this the game went against them and resulted in a heartbreak for all Texas fans.
