Akinfenwa is “angry, frustrated and dehumanised” by the remarks.

Akinfenwa, the English striker had accused a Fleetwood representative that the player was called as “fat water buffalo” following the match when Wycombe faced Fleetwood in the play-off semi-final in the last season.

The striker claimed to have felt “angry, frustrated and dehumanised” after the derogatory comment after the match.

Football Association(FA), the governing body of football in England after an investigation is satisfied with the results. They said there was not much evidence to put charges on the Fleetwood representative.

FA released an official statement:

“Having considered the witness accounts, the expert’s detailed report, and all of the facts and circumstances of this specific incident, the FA is not satisfied that there is sufficient evidence to charge the member of FTFC with a breach of FA Rule E3(2).”

“For the avoidance of doubt, the FA is entirely satisfied that the alleged words were used by the member of FTFC.”

“However, the FA has concluded that there is insufficient evidence to put before a regulatory commission to prove that the words amount to a breach of FA Rule E3(2).”

Fleetwood have “welcomed” the outcome as they claim the employee’s remark on Akinfenwa was “not objectively racist.”

Wycombe, the team Akinfenwa plays for are completely disappointed with the result of the investigation.

The club has stated that they had faith in FA, that would not entertain the nuisance of racism but witnessing the outcome of the investigation, they are dissatisfied.

Wycombe said, “The club believe the FA had the opportunity to take appropriate steps to ensure the conduct was punished appropriately. The failure of the FA to act is disappointing.”

Akinfenwa has spent four years at Wycombe, making 176 appearances and netting 54 goals. He played a major role for Wycombe’s promotion to the Championship by winning the League One Play-offs final.
