But on Thursday, Trump broke his silence to come forward and put out a statement that earned him severe backlash. America’s women’s soccer team was expected to win a gold medal at the Olympics considering the fact they have been World Champions but the team failed to secure first place but instead finished bronze.

Trump claimed that the team failed because it was headed by Leftists Maniacs and not enough Patriots were present in the team. He further added that if the team was less woke, they would have had a fair chance of winning the Games because everything woke goes bad.

“If our soccer yeam, headed by a radical group of Leftist Maniacs, wasn’t woke, they would have won the Gold Medal instead of the Bronze.”

“Woke means you lose, everything that is woke goes bad, and our soccer team certainly has. Theh should replace the wokestars with Patriots and start winning again.”

He attacked the team, albeit falsely, that they didn’t stand for the National Anthem.

“There were however, a few Patriots standing. Unfortunately, they need more than that respecting our country and National Anthem.”

The USWNT stood up for the National Anthem after they knelt before the games began to bring attention to racial discrimination.

Trump was not done yet, he next targeted the US Soccer team’s captain and star of the night, Megan Rapinoe. He blasted her for not having her head in the game and for thinking too much about Radical Left politics.

He demeaned her and called her the “The woman with the purple hair”.

The said Captain was the one who ensured America’s victory over Australia after scoring two goals and taking the lead 4-3.

The 24-year-old finished third in the balance beam event. She was supposed to participate in five other events but decided to withdraw from all the events after scoring her lowest in the all-around team finals. The star has been a face of artistic gymnastics ever since she was 19 years old but her poor performance at the Tokyo Olympics shocked the entire nation. She later admitted to having been under a lot of mental distress caused by Larry Nassar.

“Now that I think of it, maybe in the back of my head, probably, yes. Because there are certain triggers that you don’t even know. And I think [the abuse] could have [affected me].”

Biles was just one of the many victims of habitual sex offenders and pedophile Nassar. Nassar was the USA Gymnastics physician before he admitted to his crimes and was dismissed from his position. He is now serving his time in federal prison.

Talking about her past abuse and how to deal with such predators, Biles further added that these athletes need to be protected. She admitted to speaking up about this issue because she believed that being a public figure means that the issue will not be swept under the rug and be treated as just another scandal.

“But I knew that still being the face of gymnastics and the USA and everything we’ve brought, it’s not going to be buried under the rug and it will still be a very big conversation.”

Dubbed as the “Magic Man”, America had all her hopes pinned on the Penn State wrestler and Taylor did not disappoint. He had saved his last love the final few seconds of the 86kg men’s freestyle event held in Tokyo, Japan.

The clock was ticking. With just 15 seconds remaining, the wrestler star made his final move to take down Yazdani. After his win, he became the first ever Penn State wrestler to have become an Olympic champion.

Penn State Wrestling shared the news on their Twitter handle with the caption:

“David Taylor! 4-3 win! @magicman_psu wins Gold for the USA! #PSUwr.”

He received high praises from NBC wrestling analyst, Jordan Burroughs who made the prediction that Taylor is going to win some more medals for his country and this is just the beginning.

The first time Olympic champion has a track record of winning gold at Summer and Winter Olympics. He is also a two time NCAA champion.

Taking down Yazdani is no easy feat as the Iranian wrestler has previously won the Olympics in the 74kg category. He is also a two time world champion.

Taylor entered the ring knowing what he had to do to defeat the defending Olympic champion. Yazdani had gained some advantage over him after earning penalty points in the beginning but it did not take Taylor too long to tie the match.

This is not the first time that Taylor defeated him, in fact this is his third time. Yazdani lost to Talor once in 2017 World Championship and the 2018 World Championship.

Katarina Johnson suffers calf injury

Spectators witnessed the heavy strapping on her right calf which indicated that the star was still having problems. Despite the pain, Katarina continued running on the track but after a certain point, the pain was too much for her and she was seen writhing in pain, covering her face in her hands.

A wheelchair was brought in to help take her off the track, but she refused to sit in the wheelchair and be wheeled away. Instead, she hobbled her way over the line.

Katarina was unavailable to comment on the said event but Olympic champion Kwakye had something to say about her show at the heptathlon.

“I think we all thought it was amazing to see her run in the hurdles but there was limping after the high jump and there was always going to be a lot of stress on the Achilles.”

She recorded her second-fastest time to place second in the 100m hurdles heat clocking 13.27 seconds. She lost her balance in the high jump and was given a score of 2886 points. The first place was taken by Nafissatou Thiam scoring 3025 points.

Even during the 100m women’s hurdles, Katarina was getting treatment for her injury between the high jumps. The nation had expected her to bear the pain and showcase a similar performance at the 200m heptathlon, but unfortunately, the ruptured Achilles heel proved to be a major detriment.

Katarina will be seen next year competing in the World Championship that is to take place in Oregon. It has yet to be seen whether she can continue to hold her world championship title. Depending on her physical condition, she might also make an appearance at the Commonwealth Games and the European Championship.

After Katarina withdrew from the heptathlon event citing injury, Britain has so far lost two sprinters Dina Asher-Smith and Adam Gemili from Britain’s Tokyo Athletics team.

Sky Brown wins Bronze Medal

In her maiden appearance at the Olympics, the teen placed third to win bronze. She scored a total of 56.47. Japan had a double victory at the skateboarding event as Kokona Hiraki won silver and Sakura Yosozumi clinched gold.

After the event, she super-excited teen said everything feels unreal.

“All the girls are ripping it, it was insane. It was a super sick final.”

Great Britain’s pride, Brown was born in Miyazaki, Japan, but she decided to represent her dad’s country at the Olympics. The youngster has competed in several skateboarding tournaments across the globe.

A year ago the teen had suffered a terrible injury while training for an upcoming event. Her fall could have been fatal and but luckily she survived several skull fractures and broken bones.

The teen’s father worried about her condition and whether she could continue her career in skateboarding. Fast forward to 2021, Brown has an Olympic medal to her name.

World number 3, Brown had missed out on the Olympic Qualifiers that took place earlier this year. But she earned her Olympics quota due to her ranking. She had a few ups and downs in the preliminary rounds but she showed what she was made of in the third and second heat where she secured first place. All total eight riders had qualified for the finals.

Tony Hawk, the greatest American skateboarder, was all praises for the young athlete. He was confident that she is someone to watch out for, as she is easily one of the best female skateboarders in the world.

The teen now resides in California with her family and apart from skateboarding, Brown also enjoys surfing.

The team’s campaign at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics has not ended yet. The team is to further compete for the bronze in the upcoming two Olympic events.

The US team had a fair chance of winning at the Games. The team had qualified for all the Olympic women’s soccer events that had taken place so far except for two. The team has also clinched gold four times which is not something that can be ignored.

After the disappointing end, soccer player Megan Rapinoe expressed how she felt the loss to Canada was a bitter one. She admitted that it just wasn’t their day, but they want to compete and win the game and are still not letting go of an Olympic win.

The next game is going to take place on Thursday and it is reported that the US team will improve their performance to have a better shot of winning the bronze and not come home empty-handed. The semifinals will see Australia, Sweden and Canada compete for the gold. Canada has already won bronze for two consecutive years at the Olympics and is expected to win gold this year, whereas Sweden has always proven to be a powerhouse on the field. They have previously defeated the US at the Rio Olympics and finished silver.

America had pinned all her hopes on the four times gold medalist, but Biles fell a little short in her performance due to her mental state is in tatters, but the 24-year-old managed to clinch bronze at the showpiece event.

Biles had been in and out of therapy during the break. Her daily schedules involved two sessions with a psychologist in Tokyo. Biles said in an interview that she could not handle the pressure, it was too much for her. The gymnast had recently found her aunt had passed away and this added to her mental distress.

It’s been a very long week, it’s been a very long five years,” Biles said speaking in the gymnastics center after the event. ‘I didn’t expect a medal today. I just wanted to go out there and do this for me, and that’s exactly what I did. Then just focusing on beam since I don’t twist and all that really helped”, she said.

Biles’ showcased an extraordinary performance at the Games. She did not wobble once. She ended her performance with a wave and kiss to the camera, just like a star! She scored a total of 14.000. She is now one of the American gymnasts who has won the most number of medals at the Olympics.

After her win, Team USA tweeted:

Lee was not able to execute her performance flawlessly, she wobbled a bit, but she maintained her balance on the beam throughout. She earned a total score of 13.866. The judges gave her a difficulty score of 6.400 and 7.466 on her execution.

Lidia Valentin tackled physical issues to compete so far

Valentin had been experiencing physical issues lately which affected her performance at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. The 2012 London Games champion retired from the competition soon after the first clean jerk lift. Despite not being in her prime condition, she secured first place although tied with South Korea’s Kang Yeoun-hee.

Spain can expect the weightlifter to take part in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Her physical condition explains why the gold medallist took part in Group B and not Group A which usually comprises record-holders and medal winners.

The 36-year-old won a bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympics and had added another silver to her collection at the 2008 Olympics.
