A Troubling Discovery

During a seemingly regular wellness check at 979 Summit Avenue in the Bronx, authorities discovered a grisly scene. Inside Apartment 6G, they discovered a torso and arm neatly put away in a plastic bucket. However, the horror did not end there; further inquiry found that the victim’s legs, limbs, and head were placed in the freezer. Collin Smal, 44, has been named as the victim.
Those who are familiar with Johnson’s support for criminal justice reform and who enjoy the show will find the news shocking. The dismembered human torso and other body parts were allegedly found in Johnson’s apartment freezer on March 5, 2024, by Bronx, New York, police. The deceased has been identified as 44-year-old Collin Small, who was a fellow inmate at Sing Sing Correctional Facility and who was supposedly acquainted with Johnson.

Sheldon Johnson’s journey

Sheldon Johnson’s life story is full of sharp contrasts. After serving about 25 years in jail for attempted murder and other offenses, he emerged with a fresh purpose. Johnson converted himself into a criminal justice reform advocate who worked relentlessly to overcome systemic inequities.

Johnson recently spoke with Joe Rogan about his extraordinary trip. He spoke openly about the critical incident that caused him to shift his life path. “I had a wife, kids, and family still,” Johnson reflected. “My son was growing up—he was hearing stories of my so-called notoriety—I just didn’t want to be that dad.”

This incident raises serious concerns regarding the vetting of guests on prominent podcasts, as well as the possible consequences of providing a platform to individuals with problematic backgrounds. While Johnson’s previous sentence does not automatically convict him of any crime, the allegations are unquestionably significant.

The emphasis, however, should stay on the victim and the continuing investigation. Our sympathies are with the victim’s family and loved ones at this sad time.
