Following an exciting weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, NASCAR took decisive action against crew members who violated regulations. The infractions were primarily related to crew protective clothing and equipment during the recent race.NASCAR susopneded over six crew members violating different NASCAR rules and the list adds one more name from Richard Childress Racing.
Bob Pockrass shared a post on X revealing the suspension of Austin Dillion’s jackman Nick Covey for a violation of the substance abuse policy. Bob wrote in his tweet: “NASCAR also announced an indefinite suspension for Austin Dillon jackman Nick Covey for a violation of the substance-abuse policy. RCR replaced Covey with Garrett Crall last week at Texas.”

NASCAR Suspensions After Texas Race
- No. 3 Team: Two crew members from Austin Dillon’s No. 3 team were found in violation of “Safety Sections 8.8.10.4.A & C: Loss or separation of an improperly installed tire/wheel from the vehicle.” As a result, they received suspensions.
- No. 5 Crew: Two members of the Hendrick Motorsports No. 5 crew faced suspension due to a detached wheel during the Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. The rulebook violation pertained to “loss or separation of an improperly installed tire/wheel from the vehicle during the event” (Section 8.8.10.4.C). As a result, both crew members, Calvin Teague and Brandon Johnson, will be suspended for the next two events.
- No. 17 Crew: Crew member Zachary Yager received a suspension for violating safety regulations related to crew protective clothing/equipment (Sections 14.3.1.2 A & B & D).
- No. 20 Crew: Similarly, crew member Jacob Holmes from the No. 20 team was suspended for the same safety violation.
- No. 33 Crew: Crew member Doug Warrick of the No. 33 team also faced suspension due to safety equipment violations.
